    It's positive!

So, it's been a pretty busy time for me. I just started seminary at NOBTS. I am currently taking three classes: Proclaiming the Bible, Introduction to Hebrew Grammar, and Supervised Ministry 1 (Evangelism Practicum). I dropped Into to Hermeneutics, because I feel that I need to focus on what's going on in my whole life right now. I just moved to New Orleans and so I have to find a job, a church, friends, and I have to get adjusted to the new city with my wife. The classes are all going well. Dr. Merida is teaching my Proclaiming the Bible course. He's the dean of chapel and preaches at the chapel services on Thursdays. He's going through a series on personal holiness this semester. We are not preaching any sermons in his class this semester. It's mostly just learning how to prepare sermons and learning about a right theology of preaching. Dr. Nix is teaching my evangelism practicum. In that class we're going to learn an evangelistic method and in groups of 3 or 4 share Christ with the city. Dr. Nix is very fired up about sharing the gospel with the lost. We spent half of our first class getting prayer requests and praying for anyone who needed it. We take requests and pray in every class I've had so far. It's been great! Dr. England teaches Hebrew. He's a great guy full of interesting stories and facts. His class is pretty hard, but I think I'll walk away having learned more...even if my GPA suffers.
Ok...now for the big news...and the reason for this post...
That's right...we're pregnant! At 5 AM on a Friday morning we found out. My wife had been having problems with her asthma and getting nauseous quite often. She convinced me and I searched all around for an open Walgreens in New Orleans. We finally found one and got the test. Walgreens keeps them locked up! I actually had to push a button and it announced to the whole store that "A customer needs assistance in the personal care section." So, after we got home Charlee took the first test. I was sitting on the bed messing around on my Mac, and I don't remember what she said, but I said "Don't mess with me Charlee." I got up and looked and it was positive. We were both crying. She took another test and it too was positive. We are so excited! We had our first doctor visit yesterday and he said everything looks fine. We're scheduled for the first sonogram on Friday. I'm going to be a dad!
